Located north of the Arctic circle, the Lofoten Islands of Norway feature some of the planet’s most amazing landscapes. Charming fisherman cottages, called rorbu, add colorful red and yellow accents to the coastal villages. Rugged snow covered mountains rise up from the sea, setting the stage for dramatic seascapes. Short winter days consist of golden hour lighting whenever the sun appears, however, snow storms pass through the area on a daily basis, with short breaks of sky and sun in between the squalls. The lighting between storms is always changing with beautiful soft blue, pink and warm golden hues.
