I enjoy framing interesting silhouettes against the Milky Way, especially interesting tree shapes. Joshua Tree National Park in southern California is my favorite place for this, as it offers an unlimited amount of creative possibilities for Milky Way photography. While the Sunrise side of Rainier Nation Park is one of the best locations for capturing the summit of Mount Rainier and the Milky Way, the Skyline Trail at Paradise offers the opportunity to capture twisted fir trees against the Milky Way within a short walking distance from the Paradise Lodge.
