Ah Sli She Pah Wilderness is another remote site between the Bisti-De Na Zin Wilderness and the Chaco Canyon area. Similar to the Bisti and De Na Zin areas, it features many areas of small hoodoos, badlands, and petrified wood. A good resource for information on the area can be found on the website “The Wave”.
Ah Sli She Pah featured many areas of short hoodoos where sandstone cap rocks sit upon mudstone pillars.
A petrified stump of a cypress-like tree, evidence that this was the site of an ancient swamp.
Horses roaming the washes at Ah Sli She Pah heading to a watering hole. This area is adjacent to Navajo land. More than likely, these horses are owned by nearby Navajo residents.
Strange rock formations near where the access trail descends into the Ah Sli She Pah Wash.
