Deadhorse State Park is located next to the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. From the overlooks in the park, you get amazing views of the valleys below, Arches National Park and the mountains to the east, and the back country of Canyonlands National Park to the south.

The most common attraction for photographers at Deadhorse State Park is this view of a gooseneck section of the river. This vantage point within the park faces west and is best shot at sunrise, as it is largely shaded during sunset. As we visited the park during the late afternoon hours, we were happy to see that the rest of the park offers stunning views that are well lit in the evening golden hour.
