Island in the Sky is one of the districts within Canyonlands National Park. It is located high on a plateau that juts out to the south and is surrounded by the rest of the Canyonlands NP. There are overlooks all along the main road that offer stunning vistas of the amazing network of canyons below. For those that are truly adventureous, the White Rim Road descends onto a lower plateau that follows the top edge of many of the lower canyons.
