Yellowstone has been called America’s Serengeti, a last wilderness ecosystem where large animals such as bison, wolves, coyotes, elk, and big horn sheep roam the plains, mountains, and river valleys. This amazing setting offers many opportunities to observe and photograph wildlife. For those brave enough to venture out in the extreme cold of winter, these animals can be seen in solitary settings, away from the summer crowds of people.
