I recently took a quick trip to New England, more specifically, to the Connecticut coast, for my 25th class reunion at the Coast Guard Academy in New London.  While I was there, I visited a few local sights, including Devil’s Hopyard State Park, Watch Hill and Point Judith in Rhode Island, and the Mystic area.  Unfortunately, the weather was uncooperative much of the time, there was no fall color out yet, and time was often too  short for any particularly creative photos.  One of our favorite stops on this trip was a really cool cider mill in Mystic, and the photo below  is a HDR rendering of one of the buildings, in this case an old grist mill, that just had an amazing display of color.  I was drawn visually to the rusty “red lead” painted wrought iron fence and matching trim on the building.   The fence just had too much character to pass up.   A few photos of the other sites I mentioned are located in the New England gallery.
